Rainer Metcalf, Ph.D.

Dr. Rainer Metcalf serves as the CTO and Director of Computational Chemistry at Asha Therapeutics.

In this role, Dr. Metcalf leads computational discovery efforts to drive the creation of novel chemical entities (NCEs) against novel targets and de novo drug discovery encompassing molecular modeling, protein dynamics, and physics-based computational methods. His group specializes in the development of novel chemical and software technologies that facilitate de novo drug design, focusing on the development of algorithms centered around mapping novel binding sites, ternary complex formation, PPI characterization, and the rational design of molecular glues.

Rainer received his BS in Physics and his Ph.D. from the University of South Florida.
